Laundry with Love is a ministry of Church on the Street that offers free laundry services to people in need. Each household can wash up to twelve loads per month, with detergent, dryer sheets, stain spray, and bleach provided at no cost.

We gather on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at the laundromat to share more than clean clothes—we share a meal, conversation, and community. A free meal is served to everyone, whether or not they have laundry to do. The laundromat often gives away donated items, creating an opportunity for people to place their unneeded belongings directly into the hands of others who can use them.

Sign-ups for each Laundry with Love session open on the Wednesday before the event on our Facebook Page. We encourage participants to sign up in advance so we can be sure to get everyone in.

Our Story

Laundry with Love began in May 2018, inspired by a simple but powerful request. A young man asked Pastor Rebel if she could help him wash his clothes because the kids at school were teasing him for how he smelled. That moment revealed a deeper truth—many people struggle to afford clean laundry.

For families already stretched thin by the costs of food, rent, and transportation, laundry can be a luxury. One woman told us it was easier for her to find new clothes and towels than to afford to wash the ones she had. We discovered that while food and clothing assistance is common, free laundry services are rare—and deeply needed.

Without a washer and dryer at home, an average family of five can spend over $50 a month at the laundromat. Large items like comforters and blankets can cost $10 or more per load, putting clean bedding out of reach for many households. Laundry with Love helps bridge that gap—restoring dignity and comfort, one load at a time.
