February 2024 Prayers

Dear Church on the Street Family,

When folks ask for household items, food, clothing, diapers, bus passes, help paying for laundry, and a myriad of other things, I often get to say, "Absolutely, we can help with that!" They frequently ask how we can take care of these needs. It's then that I get to let them know that so many folks have heard about Church on the Street and want to help them get the basics for them and their families. The struggles are significant even when working to have funds to cover gas, rent, and food, so we take care of some of the small things when we can. What's more is that the vast majority of folks are looking for a Christ-centered community caring for one another, and that's exactly who we strive to be. We're a community that does laundry together, shares a meal, and then gathers for prayer. We show up on the streets of Sioux Falls to give some goodies but end up catching up on life and celebrating new sobriety. We go and share our story and invite others in at community fairs and in congregations near and far. We provide opportunities like Health and Healing to give folks the dignity of getting haircuts and a warm meal, with many hugs and shouts of, "I love you!" We can do this because of all the volunteers, financial supporters, tangible donations, and a community that sees what God is up to and responds in big ways.

Below, you'll find the prayer requests for this month. They are raw and real, and we thank you for the ways we are Church together. Thanks be to God for this ministry and the community that makes it all possible.

It's great to be Church together!
