November 2023 Prayers

Dear Church on the Street Family,

After a week away, I am exceedingly grateful for the ways we are knit together as Church on the Street. I knew that the staff, volunteers, regulars, and new folks would take care of each other in love because that's what the Spirit does. That allowed me to step away and come back renewed to get ready for our Christmas worship and to be with folks on Christmas because those are times when the struggles and brokenness of lives are more visible and when it's essential to gather and name the places of light and life that come through Jesus no matter what. This is not only true at Church on the Street, but for each of us in our way, we feel the loss of loved ones and times of old even as we watch new ways that God is active in our lives, even if we struggle to name those.

One of the most impactful ways we lift each other is through prayer. The scripture even tells us that when it hurts too much to pray, the Spirit steps in and does that for us. The Spirit often uses you to lift people who struggle at any given time in prayer, and I am grateful for your continuing love and support as God has called us together to be Church.

Pastor Chris
